Sunday Services

All of the Sunday services as St John's Pendlebury begin at 10:30am and end at approximately 12:00 noon.

The 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th Sundays in the month are Holy Communion services. We follow the Book of Common Worship. The Service includes Bible readings, a sermon, prayers for the world and our community, hymns and the distribution of Communion to all who wish to partake. Childrens activities are available in the Church lounge; should you wish to accompany your child, the lounge is equipped with facilities to ensure you can hear the Service. Refreshments are served after the Service.

The 2nd Sunday of the month is our All Age Sunday. This is a thirty minute service which is accessible for people of all ages, and is especially aimed at families with young children. This features an interactive talk and a time of reflection. This is followed by an interval for refreshments and then a shortened Communion Service finishing at 12:00.

Prior to the All Age Sunday on the 2nd Sunday of every month, we hold a thirty minute service of Morning Prayer at 8:00am. This service follows the traditional Book of Common Prayer and features Communion.

The 2nd Sunday of each Month is reserved for Baptisms which have been pre-arranged. This type of Service involves a shortened sermon, prayers for the Baptism candidate and then Baptism ceremony. Childrens activities are available until the Baptism begins.
